Loading & Using Waypoints

From Version 2.4, you can load and display waypoints. By using the waypoint GPX file as a candidate stop point around the course, it is useful for planning break points and supply points.

The point where the red marker is registered as a point in the plan. The light blue marker is the read waypoint point.

Please note the following when using waypoint information.

  • Track information must be loaded to display / use waypoint information. If there is no track information, calling the map screen or generating points may not work.
===========================================

1. Loading and displaying waypoints

Display the plan, move into edit state, and then display the map screen with the GPX button.

Display the map screen from the GPX button after entering the edit state

Even if you move to the map screen without editing it on the plan screen, you cannot load tracks or waypoints. Also, since the map screen displayed from the marker icon of a point is for editing that point, you cannot edit tracks or waypoints that cover the entire route. To edit the waypoint, put the plan in the edit state and use the map screen displayed from the GPX button.

The map screen is displayed in the edited state. In addition to the edit buttons for tracks that have been available since Version 2.3, you will see an edit button for waypoints.

Tap the waypoint load button on the left side of the screen to load the GPX file.

GPX files can have track information, route information, and waypoint information. From the waypoint load button, only the waypoint information contained in the specified GPX is loaded. Similarly, the load track information button loads only the track information contained in the GPX file. Even if a single GPX file contains two types of track information and waypoint information, they still need to be loaded from separate load buttons.

If the selected GPX contains waypoints, a screen for selecting the color of the marker to be displayed is displayed.

Here, let's select light blue.

The waypoints included in GPX are displayed in the selected color. When you tap the marker, the name of the waypoint (contents of the name tag) is displayed.

Only one track can be read into one planning file. If another track file is read while the track has already been read, only the track information read later will be valid and displayed on the screen.

Waypoints behave differently than tracks and can be read multiple times. For example, you can read a waypoint file called A.GPX and display it with a light blue marker, then read a waypoint file called B.GPX and display it with a green marker. Since the color of the marker used for display can be set each time it is read, GPX files can be prepared for each type and purpose and displayed in different colors.

After reading the waypoint with the light blue marker for the first time, the waypoint is read for the second time with the green marker.

The read waypoints are displayed not only on the GPX map screen but also on the map screen of each point. You can also turn on / off the waypoint display with the POI information ON / OFF button (○ △ □ button) at the top right of the screen.

2. Create user point from waypoint

Waypoints can be added to the plan as user points when the map screen is displayed in the edited state. Tap a waypoint marker to display the information window for that point. Tap the information window to display a dialog asking if you want to add it as a point.

Tap OK to add it as a point to the plan file. It is difficult to understand on the map screen, but when you display the plan screen, the place you tapped earlier is added as a point.

By preparing a GPX file of the waypoint list, you will be able to identify points in more necessary places and add them as points.
